The practice of shining and polishing shoes has been around since the invention of foot coverings. Shining not only gives shoes an appealing glossy finish, but also preserves their workmanship and quality by moisturizing the leather, adding years to their life. Left untreated, leathers dry, crack, and fall apart.
Good, quality leather shoes should be polished once a month to preserve their life if they're worn regularly. As you would clean your dry cleaning items or other specialty wearables, clean and polish shoes whenever necessary. If shoes are worn seldomly, clean once per month and polish and shine only as needed. Shoe polishes come in four basic premixed forms: waxes, pastes, liquids, and creams. Choosing between wax and cream polish can make a rather drastic difference in the quality of your leather shoes.

Shoe Music

Shoes is an American power pop band, formed in Zion, Illinois, in 1974 by brothers John and Jeff Murphy, and Gary Klebe and incorporating several different drummers over the years including Barry Shumaker, Skip Meyer, Ric Menck, John Richardson, and Jeff Hunter. The Murphy brothers and Klebe were high school friends and decided to form a band following graduation. At the time none of the members knew how to play an instrument so each member picked an instrument to learn and promised to reunite within one year. Within the first year the 3 got back together to rehearse and eventually record their first album. Shoes' biggest hit was "Too Late" (#75, November 1979) from the album Present Tense.

The Shoes of the Fisherman is a 1963 novel by the Australian author Morris West, as well as a 1968 film based on the novel. The book reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list for adult fiction on June 30, 1963, and became the #1 bestselling novel in the United States for that year, according to Publishers Weekly.
